It would be interesting for us to seriously analyze how effective each candidate%26#039;s proposed change to the tax code would benefit Americans better as a whole.

I feel that Obama%26#039;s proposal, shifting the tax burden toward the rich from low- and middle-income workers, seems less complicated.
Clinton%26#039;s %26quot;targeted tax breaks%26quot; designed to change the way Americans use energy, save money and care for elders, sounds tricky. It reminds me of the loopholes that allow the high income earner to evade tax payments, by deducting expenses of sorts to justify taking tax credits. This means that it would benefit those itemizing their tax returns. Unless one has a good tax advisor, tax preparation can be complicating. Tax credits are only good for those earning good income. To the poor earners tax credits are practically useless %26amp; foolish for them to imagine any savings to care for their elders.
Any thoughts????

This is propaganda based on class envy. The fact is the top 1% (rich) pay 50% of the taxes paid. How much more do they need to pay? Do you know that the %26quot;rich%26quot; are the ones that creat jobs? When the government takes more of the money that you earn it no longer becomes profitable to operate a business thus no jobs. I only make $50,000.00 per year after working for 30+ years. Does that make me rich? I don%26#039;t think so but if Obama or Hillary become President they have already stated that they are going to let the Bush tx cuts expire. That means that I will pay an additional $1800.00 per year in taxes. Please get educated and don%26#039;t drink the Kool-Aid.

I had a chance to read the report and I found it interesting. I like Obama%26#039;s ideas because they are pretty transparent..anybody could read his plan and get it...
Hillary%26#039;s plan leaves me wondering who will benefit? I mean unless you have a personal tax accountant/CPA you probably will miss out even if you qualify.
I mean think about it...what kinds of people really itemize? Typically more affluent or self employed people...not the majority...

Tax preparation is not that hard if you can read. Boring, yes, difficult no, and I have been doing itemized taxes for 7 years because I use to be self-employed and now my husband is self-emlployed. I will have to read what each candidate wants to do, but it sounds like you are discounting Clinton%26#039;s because it is a more detailed account of what she wants to do and perhaps you can%26#039;t understand what exactly she is trying to get across.
%26quot;trickygirlb, you probably are thinking of tax returns for those who are just salary earners and are not in wide-scale business dealings and investments, here and abroad. No, tax preparation can be tougher than you can imagine. I%26#039;m not thinking of those earning from one or two jobs, but have wide-spread earnings from varied sources....%26quot;
someone with a wide-scale business dealings %26amp; investments all over the world, I would hope would use an licensed
accountant in the first place. So what is your point.

HANG ON TO YOUR PAYCHECK !!
The SocialistCommunist/Liberal Democrats ARE going to TAKE IT !!!
Their IDEA of CHANGE is what YOU get back !!!
Democrats generally believe in heavy fines for honest work, while rewarding sloth and indulgence.
Do YOU think that people should be able to do absolutely nothing productive and get government hand-outs for sloth and indulgence - healthcare, tobacco, alcohol, drugs, STDs, etc. ??
Do YOU want to have YOUR MONEY TAKEN from YOU and YOUR FAMILY to FINANCE these people ???

We rich fat cats are good at and have the ability to hide, defer and wait on %26quot;income%26quot; so passing more tax increases only effects those unprepared for this action or without the ability to adjust and take advantage of whatever %26quot;tax savings%26quot; are available. I plan on using every trick in the book irregardless of which corrupt political party takes office. I am tired of these bozos and crooks.
The Wall Street journal had an article on this activity not long ago and it showed the rich were quite adept at evading any new confiscatory taxes. If the top 25% already pay 95% of all the income tax collected, just how much more of a share are we supposed to contribute? Is this, as it stands, really %26quot;fair%26quot; today?

You must be young. If you were of age during the Reagan years there was a phrase %26quot;tax shelter%26quot; that has gone from our vocabulary since that time. When capital gains taxes were high it did not pay for the wealthy to invest money in businesses that created jobs because the IRS would confiscate it once the asset was sold. So the rich would by ranchland in Texas and New mexico and run it as a loss to lower their tax burden. And if they needed money for other investments instead of selling their assests thereby setting off the capital gains taxes they would borrow money against the assets and then write the interest they paid on the loans. As the CG tax became smaller this was no longer profitable for the rich. In order to make money they had to start businesses and create jobs and the phrase became rarer and rarer.
The bottom 40 million earners pay no income tax at all and the top 5% pay 93% of the taxes. So how fair is it to raise their taxes more? And what of the jobs it will cost us? Have you ever worked for a poor person?

This is the statement I will take out of the article. I guess it would depend on what class you gell into. I don%26#039;t think the middle class can take the hit. The lower class have barely paid any taxes. The middle class under Obama would be paying the burden, these are the families that vacation, take in their relatives, and both work so they need dependable child care.
With Obama%26#039;s you would be nearly eliminating the middle class. The reason the poor wouldn%26#039;t be realizing any savings is because they already pay no tax or very little.
Clinton%26#039;s plan ``seems to be more pitched toward middle- class families,%26#039;%26#039; Simms said. ``Obama%26#039;s appears to be slightly more tilted to lower-income families.%26#039;%26#039;
I%26#039;m wondering if with their plans, the standard deduction will stand. The taxes are now lower for the middle and lower classes. Everybody is in a tizzy about the wealthy and big business having gotten a tax cut are not paying there fair share and that the tax burden is shifted. But if you researched you would find that the taxes were cut more for the middle class and the poor, more emphasis on the middle class.
