Child Tax credits part II (UK)?

Thanks to answerers of my previous question, just an add on really, so when it asks you how much you earn and you are on mat leave, presumeably you tell them your mat leave pay rather than your annual salary and update them as this changes (i.e. first 6 weeks I%26#039;ll be on 90% then 12 weeks at 50% then just SMP . . . )

Do they take into account the low rate of SMP and pay credits accordingly?

Thanks

Child Tax credits part II (UK)?

Yes they will take this into account. A rang them a little while ago because my wages were going to be higher than I calculated (I work in the NHS and can increase my maternity pay quite a lot by doing extra shifts...which obviously I did). When I rang them the man said that I was entitled to earn 鎷?00 per week during maternity leave (which for me was 6months of the financial year and worked out at 2600), so they take that off your annual salary while your on maternity leave. So effectively they dont count the basic low rate SMP. Sorry if I havent explained very well I am not sure how else to say it.

I hope ive helped and not confused you even more LOL

Yes- you work out the amount you would get for those 6 weeks at 90%, then the next 12 weeks at 50%, then the remainder at you smp rate - but make sure that you deduct 鎷?00 for each week you are on smp.
