Child tax backdated?

I ended my joint claim with child tax on the 31st august and had to apply for income support due to being a single parent now.On the same day I applied for income support I rang the tax credit helpline,they sent me out forms,I filled them in and sent them back on the 3rd august.I have spent everyday ringing them since only to find that they didn%26#039;t recieve my forms untill the 24th agust.They have now told me that I will only get my money backdated to the 24th even though I have recieved no money from child tax from the 31st august,How can this be right,it%26#039;s not my fault that they left my form sitting on soneones desk.Any idea how I can get my money backdated to the change in circumstances?I even told them that income support started my payments from the 3rd august and I can prove I have recieved no money other than my income support and family allowence through my bank statements.I have bills mounting up and they still haven%26#039;t processed my claim and have told me it could take a futher 3

Your best bet is to get down to CAB, they should be able to help you. Keep ringing Tax Credits and tell them because of them not processing your claim you are suffering HARDSHIP this is very important. Also ask for the forms for making a complaint. You could also apply for a crisis loan from the jobcentre, no one can expect you to live on 鎷?0 odd quid a week when you have children to support. Best of Luck to you x
