Tax question and real value of income in the USA? This should get some good responses LOL!?

A single man with say an income of 30,000 a year has about the same take home pay of a woman who has 1 child and makes 20,000 a year.

To wit earned income tax credit, head of household, and the childs deduction.

Also at a county level their are discounts on taxes for wifes that there husbands pass and also SSI.

Why are single men being so discriminated against by the USA and its tax laws?

I challenge you to prove any of this. Moreover, the tax treatment of the single parent is the same, whether male or female. If your first sentence is correct, it would be equally correct of a single woman with an income of 30k and a single man with 1 child and an income of 20k. Thus, the rules have nothing to do with gender.

You need a big white %26quot;8%26quot; for your bowling ball.

Yes, the single man is discriminated against but he makes more money than the working Mom who has kids to support and school. Unfortunately the greatest burden in our society falls on our single working Moms now.

Next question - shake the heavy 8 Ball to get answers

I am sorry I don%26#039;t know but one thing for sure I know. It is time for us to open our mouth and let everyone know this abuse....

IRS must come up with some solution and it is time to change the law....

If you are single, then it depends on that of your wages. A single male over the age of 25 can get the earned income credit if his earns is not over a certain income level. We do have a progessive tax system you know. The more money anyone make the higher their tax bracket will become. The highest tax bracket that one can be in is the 35% bracket. A single mother/father can be disallowed from the EIC for several reasons: too much money, being claimed by another person, etc.

The IRS by the way is a male driven place. If you are married, the first person%26#039;s name on the tax return is the male%26#039;s not the female%26#039;s.

I believe your understanding of the Internal Revenue Code is in error.

The amount of take home pay is determined only by income level and exemptions claimed. Gender does not play a role, and a male may claim as many exemptions as a female, assuming otherwise similar circumstances. Payroll taxes are decidedly gender neutral. Also, take home pay is not a measure of ultimate income tax liability.

The earned income credit, head of household filing status, dependant care credit, and child tax credit are available to all individuals who meet the requirements, none of which include a gender limitation.

County tax offers to single mothers and not single fathers are, generally, a rare breed, so your county is just unique and not an indication of wide-spread discrimination. More common are non-profit foundations dedicated to women%26#039;s advancement, education, or support. These are not government entities, and therefore not an indication of governmental discrimination.
